Our client is an early-stage, venture-backed startup building cutting-edge AI products to transform the way businesses operate. They are looking for a Founding AI Engineer to join the team at a pivotal stage — helping to shape both the technology and the company itself.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a founding role, working directly with the leadership team (Revoult, Trade Republic) to define the technical vision, drive innovation, and bring real-world AI products to life.
Day-to-day…
You’ll be joining as one of the first technical hires, playing a critical role in building, deploying, and scaling AI systems that make a real impact. Working closely with the founders and an experienced team of engineers and designers, you’ll help set the foundations for technical excellence and rapid product development.
You’ll have the freedom and autonomy to make big technical decisions, experiment with new ideas, and see your work go from concept to production at speed.
Design, build, and deploy advanced AI models and systems that solve real business problems.
Work closely with the leadership team to define the technical roadmap and product vision.
Rapidly prototype, test, and iterate on ideas to validate technical approaches and drive innovation.
Architect and develop scalable infrastructure to support AI model training, evaluation, and deployment.
Keep up-to-date with the latest research in AI, machine learning, and related fields, and bring those ideas into production.
Help establish engineering best practices, from code quality to deployment processes, in a fast-paced startup environment.
Collaborate cross-functionally with design, product, and operations to bring intuitive, powerful AI products to market.
The ideal candidate…
Strong experience with machine learning, deep learning, and related AI techniques, ideally with some projects deployed in production.
Proficiency in Python and machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, etc.
Hands-on experience with end-to-end AI development: from data pipelines and model training to evaluation and deployment.
Solid software engineering fundamentals, including writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
Startup mindset, comfortable with ambiguity, fast iteration, and taking ownership.
Ability to think strategically about product and business goals as well as technical execution.
NICE TO HAVE:
A master's or PhD degree in a quantitative discipline.
Experience with knowledge graph / ontology construction from structured and unstructured data and its use for information retrieval.
Experience interfacing with disparate remote sources of structured and unstructured data (API, data warehouse, and file based).
